Morning Prayer

The morning prayer gives a shared sense of direction for the spiritual pathway of each day. The schedule suggests a theme for each day, a petition, a passage from the Gospels (which can be found in the readings for each day) and a meditation. There are also points for personal prayer and for sharing in the MAGiS circle. The morning prayer can be made alone, but will most often take place in group. It will last about 20 minutes.

» I take my Pilgrim’s Handbook

» I find a quiet place and make myself comfortable

» I start my with bowing my head or making a sign of the cross

» I calm down by breathing slowly in and out

» I imagine how God is looking at me: with love, with a smile

» I ask God what I want by reading the petition

» I read the Gospel text slowly, savouring the words, the images

» I imagine myself in that place with Jesus: how do people look like, what do they say, what do they do?

» I talk to Jesus, as a friend speaks to a friend

» I remember what happened during the meditation

» I note down what touched me during the prayer: a word, a sentence, an image, feelings of comfort, feelings of discomfort.
